Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together

I give you this one thought to keep
She is still with you - She does not sleep

She is a thousand winds that blow
She is the diamond glints on snow
She is the sunlight on ripened grain
She is the gentle autumn rain

When you awaken in the morning's hush
She is the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
She is the soft stars that shine at night

Do not think of her as gone
She is with you still - In each new dawn

On August 18, 2004, Jeff and Beth's pet, Imagi, suddenly fell ill and nobody could understand why. Unfortunately, Imagi wasn't able to pull through and he passed away later that same day. As if that wasn't hard enough to deal with, sadly on August 21, 2004, Jeff and Beth's dog, Liger, who had been ill for quite some time, passed away peacefully in his sleep. On top of all that, the fish they had, Rainbow Fish, also passed away around the same time.

It's a shame anybody has to go through the loss of a loved one and it does not make it any easier just because they're not human. Our pets become members of our families too and it is never easy to lose a family member.

M.O.T.S.B sends it's thoughts and prayers out to both Jeff and Beth. Although any loss is hard to deal with just remember, as long as we never forget them...they will continue to live on forever in our hearts.
